Starting A Garden
So, food prices are going up, supply is going down and we decided we want to start growing some of our food!

Here's the thing... My husband and I are moving into a new house with a decent sized back yard. After going back and forth on how we want it landscaped, we decided to make most of it garden friendly so we can start growing our own food.
I didn't think much about it until we started trying to decide what kind of foods we want to grow. We decided that we want to grow foods that we already eat on a regular basis (lettuce, beans, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes etc.)
This has been our journey so far:
Went to a seed exchange (they didn't have anything we wanted to grow, and the seeds don't come with instructions). It would have been wise for me to take a notebook and maybe some sticky notes. Everyone there seemed to be an experienced farmer and had a ton of advice that I forgot almost immediately :/
Decided to go to the store and buy seeds for what we wanted to grow. Didn't realize that most of what we want to grow has different growing seasons and need different types of "environments" to grow in (now considering adding a tiny greenhouse to the landscape).
We are literally at the very beginning of this journey and its already a bit overwhelming; so, any advice ya'll have is welcomed! I will keep this blog updated with our progress, sucess and mistakes haha!
